The device originated in cooperation with Faculty of Electrical Engineering of Czech Technical University in Prague for scientifical research project Geographical variability of breeding and foraging strategy of Tengmalm's owl, realized by ornithologists from Faculty of Environmental Sciences of Czech University of Live Sciences Prague.
The embedded system consists of a control board based on the SQM4-VF6-W processor module, two industrial IDS cameras with infrared lighting, optical barrier, RFID reader and sensors of temperature and ambient light. It is powered by a single 12V 60Ah traction battery, ensuring a 7-days long autonomous system performance.
